Sun Moon Lake
Sun Moon Lake is located in Yuchih, Nantou, and is the largest lake in Taiwan, at 748 meters above sea level. We can find in the middle of the lake the Lalu Island, which is the holy ground for the Thao tribe. It is not permitted to swim in the lake, but there is an annual 3-km race called the Swimming Carnival of Sun Moon Lake, which is held near the Mid-Autumn Festival, along with other festivities with fireworks, laser shows, and concerts.

Hsinchu is a center of hi-tech industry, located in the north-western part of Taiwan.
