Kangxi Grasslands
The Kangxi Grasslands, a 20 square-km stretch alongside the shore of the Guanting Reservoir, is a tranquil expanse of rolling hills and plains.
A popular destination for outdoor activities including fishing, bird watching, horse and camelback riding and archery, the grasslands offer a taste of Inner Mongolia, complete with yurts, Mongolian song, dance, milk tea, kumiss (a fermented milk beverage), cheeses and roast rabbit and goat.
During the summer, there are regular bonfires where locals sing traditional Mongolian music, while enjoying food and drink, but the the largest appeal of Kangxi is its relatively untouched nature.
